Responsible Gambling

Non-promotional safer-gambling guidance, warning signs, budgeting and support resources.

Responsible Gambling

Gambling is entertainment, not income

Casino games and sports betting involve financial risk. House edge, market margin and randomness mean there is no reliable way to turn gambling into guaranteed income. Only use money you can afford to lose.

Warning signs

  • Chasing losses or increasing stakes after a loss.
  • Borrowing money to gamble.
  • Hiding gambling from family or friends.
  • Playing longer than intended or missing obligations.
  • Feeling anxious, angry or unable to stop.

Practical controls

Set a fixed entertainment budget, use deposit or session controls where available, take breaks, and avoid gambling while intoxicated or distressed. If controls are not enough, self-exclusion is a stronger option.

Independent help

Use recognised support organisations available in your country. MetaWin’s affiliate terms cite organisations such as GamCare and GambleAware as examples of responsible-gambling resources. Local equivalents may be more appropriate depending on your location.
